Planning permission received for houses on plots 3 & 5

We are delighted to announce that following submission of house designs for plots 3 and 5, planning permission has been granted. Suggested plans and images for both properties are shown below. The current planning permission allows for minor adaptations to be made to the original design.

Anyone wishing to purchase either plot and appointing Rock Construction Ltd to build their house using these striking and original designs will save months of time, administrative hassle and expense. As a rough guide, the house on Plot 3 could be ready in approximately 12 months and the property on Plot 5 in around 18 months.

It is of course possible for anyone purchasing one of these plots of land to have a house to a completely new design and to re-apply for planning permission.

Bequia Mount Gay Music Fest 2012: “Just amazing….!”

The event opened on Thursday 26th at the Frangipani Hotel, with a record crowd of visitors, yachtsmen and Bequia residents thronging the open air waterfront bar to hear and be amazed by the outstanding young talent of the 13-piece Elite Steel Orchestra from St. Vincent.

And that was just the beginning of what proved to be an extraordinary weekend of musical entertainment. The tiny Grenadine island of Bequia began filling up with visitors in the days before the event, with a record 200 or more yachts filling the harbour in Admiralty Bay. Many who came had planned their visit specifically to be in Bequia for the Music Fest – one family sailed all the way from the UK just to be in Bequia in time for this now world-famous event.

On Friday evening, performers included the legendary Dana Gillespie and her London Blues Band and guests. Italian percussionist and ukulele player Veronica won over many hearts, as did the guest performances by pianists Julien Brunetaud and Paddy Milner, guitarist Lewis Cohen, drummers Enrico Morena and Jamie Little, and the thrilling Chicagoan Blues maestro Zach Prather. Bequia in UK press as ‘perfect Caribbean island’

In April 2011, Bequia featured in the UK’s ‘Daily Telegraph’ Travel section. After years of research, journalist Fred Mawer believes he has finally found the perfect Caribbean island and explains his choice.
